Excess Radon Found in 43% of Tested Homes in Illinois


During January, the state of Illinois offered 10,000 free radon detectors to its residents. However, all the radon kits available were distributed and homeowners who were not able to get free kits were advised to purchase radon test kits from accredited sellers.

The Health Department warned the public that where you live and what type of home you have do not really matter as cases of excessive radon have been found in every Illinois county.
